What is Tinnitus?
Tinnitus is a condition that conventional medicine often treats by focusing on the symptoms. However, traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) has a different approach.
From the TCM perspective, tinnitus is considered a circulation problem around the ear, neck, or shoulder regions. The ears are the openings of the kidney on the body surface, and they are also important pivot locations for the body's meridians to communicate with one another.
TCM practitioners believe that tinnitus is not an auditory disease, but it is often related to certain channels and particular internal organs.
What causes Tinnitus?
According to TCM, tinnitus is related to excessive heat in organs such as the liver, heart, and gallbladder, which can lead to blockages or stagnation in the channels that connect the ears to the rest of the body.
